Building Computer Design Department
Department of History
№90 Chairmanship “Automated Design Systems” was founded in 1985 at the Technical University of Georgia and was one of the first chairs in the former Soviet Union. She has been photographed since 1986. In the same years, similar courses were created in many cities of the former Soviet Union ( Moscow Construction Institute, Ukraine, Belarus) and abroad (in England, in Germany, in Holland, etc.), which continue their work with great success.
As it was noted, the growth of the construction case brought new requirements to design organizations and institutes. The demand for the number of design documents has increased sharply. In addition, the requirements for the construction, sustainability, economics and other criteria of building constructions and structures that require engineers to demand and solve difficult, including optimal tasks. The project progress cannot be achieved by increasing the number of designers alone. A sharp increase in the qualification of engineer and technical personnel, not only traditional methods of designing structures and structures, but also modern computer technologies and optimization methods, which will enable the global extremism of multimodal function of multiple variables. The general approach to the optimization of construction structures and structures parameters, which are designed to solve the difficult task of designing precision in modern engineering practices, must be developed based on the above-mentioned methods.
Preparation of a new category of specialists was created for high quality construction projects. A specialist who could solve these tasks. This faculty was opened for this purpose at the Faculty of Construction. The purpose of the chair (direction) was to train 2203 specialists (Engineers-Engineers) specializing in the design of automated design systems in their architectural-building and also for the operation of existing systems (for services). Until 1985 the young specialists of this profile were not prepared, but the annual increase in demand for the introduction of automation of the project process led to the growing demand for specialists of this profile.
Using the specialization program developed with us enables the student to deeply and thoroughly master computer technology for information processing. Specialists of this field will be able to work in the project organizations; In the relevant services of the City Hall; Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Relevant services; Construction, construction and other engineering companies, as information technology designers, processors, heads of computer centers, programmers, administrators of database management systems, etc. There is also a need for the graduates of our direction (now department) in the computer subdivision of governmental and administrative structures in the financial and banking sphere, the latest computer, information and communication technologies market, computer design, advertising and publishing business, TV field and etc. Sh.
Since 2011 the direction has been transformed as a computer design department of construction.
The first director and founder of the direction was Prof. Yuza Verulava (1985-2001), from 2001 to 2004 (before death) was headed by Prof. Nikoloz Todua, who played a major role in strengthening the direction of material-technical base. Since 2004, the direction is led by Prof. Murman Kublashvili.
The Department has a close relationship with the relevant departments of other countries of the world, scientific organizations and professional associations. Successful students were not invited to study the exchange program in European countries.
During this period, they worked at different facets: Teimuraz Khutsishvili, David Jalagania, Giorgi Shonia, David Maisuradze, Malkhaz Ashordia, Lado Asatiani, Valeri Khvichia.
During its existence, the Department has prepared many specialists. Currently he prepares both professional training as well as bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree specialists. Doctor’s academic degree was given to Khatia Gorjoladze, Tamar Kvachadze, Tinatin Magradze, Zurab Kapanadze, Mirian Kublashvili who successfully pedagogical work at the university.
